Mujeres con más años, más oscuras y más grandes hacen parte del repertorio.

La muestra se llama Snapped! y en ella aparece un séquito de mujeres vistiendo atuendos recién horneados de las pasarelas primavera 2011, en Londres. ¿La idea detrás de todo? Probar que para ser bello y emanar moda no se necesita ser radicalmente flaco o exageradamente pálido.

Una modelo de más de 80 años vestida por la icónica londinense Vivianne Westwood, Amina Ahmed, de piel oscura; Naomi Shimada y Kirsty McLennan, ambas curvilíneas y exuberantes, son parte del grupo de mujeres. Con ellas, se prentende demostrar a la industria que sus consumidores, contrario a lo que ellos creen, no son todas extremamente delgadas ni llenan los cánones de perfección que inventan las campañas publicitarias y las mañas del Photoshop.

La exhibición abrirá sus puertas el otro mes en la National Portrait Gallery en Londres.
